Seemed like an absolute done deal. Signed, sealed, delivered. Even rumors going around Matta was putting a staff together..then poof. Really disappointing. I wish so much stuff didn't get leaked to media nowadays. I feel it complicates matters. But that is the age we live in.

Crean would be a slight letdown compared to Matta, but he would instantly be the most highly qualified basketball coach UGA has ever hired. We could certainly do much worse. But yeah, I won't count him as hired until he is in Athens holding an introductory PC.

Back to Matta, I admit reading about the extent of his back issues in that Dawgnation article did give me a bit of pause. I did not know things got that bad. Still sucks for us, but oh well.
